Imagine if Black women shone alongside the stars and their melanin skin glistened off of the moon’s light?
Imagine if, like the curly crowns on our heads, Black women defied gravity, embracing the beauty in the darkness of space just as the beauty in our darker hue.
Imagine if the exploration of space wasn’t only widely associated with white men’s “one small step for man”, but rather “the giant leap for mankind” was made possible by Black women.
Imagine if NASA’s “hidden figures” were instead proudly celebrated and championed during the space race, inspiring Black women to go to infinity and beyond and see outer space for themselves?
